iPhone 7 Plus Noise Under Load

As my iPhone 7 Plus was restoring from iCloud, I thought I noticed some sound. After picking the device up from my desk, it was clear the sounds are coming from back of the phone, possibly from the CPU. It seems to get worse if the iPhone is under load, and can be heard while the phone is sitting on a table.

  1. This noise is emitted by the SSD on rMBP latest pre-tMBP, as well as the MS SP4, more softly from the tMBP 15" and not (audibly to me, at least) at all by the tMBP 13" w/o touchbar. Intolerable but ubiquitous.

  2. The reason is a bad electronig design with some cheap electronic components: coils and capacitors that vibrate at high frequencies when the processor works intensively………. they cannot correct it via software…… and the repair needs a change in the board, or just a new board… bad luck. Somebody is going to be fired. But people will still buy it more like crazy.

  3. Same sounds here. Mine doesn't need a heavy load – doing pretty much anything, like scrolling a scroll view will do it. The camera records video with a nasty background noise as well. My wife's makes no sound at all.
